Happy Birthday Johnny Depp

The people who seemed to only be involved in the trial deserve a reminder of what a great man Mr. Depp is. The list of his accomplishments is long. I look back on the past 37 years of incredible movie experiences, I would like to remind you of the man known as Johnny. Like you, I expect to recall only positive experiences I have had viewing Mr. Depp’s body of work throughout the years. While Ms. Heard attempted to make the world believe that Mr. Depp was inherently corrupt, my belief is that it is impossible for someone to continue producing work if you are even a small portion of what Ms. Heard implied about Johnny.

Now that everyone knows what my position is. Let’s begin. Shall we?

The actor, producer, and musician John Christopher Depp II was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on June 9, 1963, to Betty Sue who tended tables and John Christopher Depp who was an engineer.  Now on to his professional life, he has received numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award, and has been nominated for three Academy Awards and two British Academy Film Awards.

As a teen idol, Depp emerged on the television show 21 Jump Street (1987-1990) as a teen idol. Depp’s feature film debut was in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and he then appeared in Platoon (1986). Depp appeared in many independent films directed by the novice during the 1990s, in many cases playing eccentric roles. These included Cry-Baby (1990), What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Benny and Joon (1993), Dead Man (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). Depp also began his long collaboration with director Tim Burton, starring as the leads in the films Edward Scissorhands (1990), Ed Wood (1994), and Sleepy Hollow (1999).

As Captain Jack Sparrow in Walt Disney’s massive film series Pirates of the Caribbean (2003-2017), Depp became one of the most commercially successful film stars of the 2000s. In addition to Chocolat (2000), Finding Neverland (2004), and Public Enemies (2009), he also worked with Tim Burton on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), in which he played Willy Wonka. He also starred in Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), and Alice in Wonderland (2010).

A year after he was listed as the highest-paid actor in the world by Guinness Book of World Records, with earnings of US $75 million in 2012, Depp was one of the world’s biggest film stars. With the launch of his production company Infinitum Nihil, Depp started making films during the 2010s. As Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018), he won critical acclaim for Black Mass (2015) and the rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. Honestly, I could make a four-page article if I was to notate every single movie Johnny has starred in. It would be easier to just give you the link to the complete list HERE. Enjoy!

He was married to Lori Anne Allison in 1983 but divorced her in 1985. Vanessa Paradis, wife of Depp between 1998 and 2012, has two children with him, Lily-Rose Melody, born in 1999 and Jack, born in 2002. From 2015 to 2022, Depp was married to actress Amber Heard. Their divorce drew much media attention as both alleged abuse against each other. Depp later successfully sued Heard in a 2022 trial in Virginia; a seven-person jury ruled that Heards’ allegations of “sexual violence” and “domestic abuse” were false and defamed Depp under American law. The truth came out, wouldn’t you say? It is my hope for Johnny Depp is that he has finds peace in the wake of this recent trial. I pray for an incredible birthday for Mr. Depp, he deserves it. I think the rest of the world would agree Mr. Depp needs a vacation. Ms. Heard tried to shake Johnny. However, he was unmovable. He will remain where he has been for the past 37 years, tucked snuggly away in the hearts and minds of every person who has ever seen a Johnny movie.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Happy Birthday Johnny.

The world still loves you! We never stopped!
