The family unit is unique, and every member has a particular role to play. This role differs from family to family. Often, aunts can play a role in helping parents and children deal with problems. Aunts’ involvement in family matters is similar to that of grandparents, because they are often subjectively involved. Her objective viewpoint allows her to see things more clearly. In addition, she can provide a place for her nieces and nephews to spend some time away from the family. The aunt of a niece or nephew who is committed to their welfare can have a long-lasting positive influence on them.
